Confirm exactly what the set contains: which numbers (for example 5-PW or 4-PW) and whether any club has been replaced with a different model or shaft. Ask for a photo of all the faces lined up to compare groove and face wear, and of the soles and toplines for dents or deep nicks. Read the shaft label on more than one club, since a replacement club may carry a different shaft. Check lie angle where the maker marks it: Ping's colored dot shows the lie, with 10 codes from 5 degrees upright to 4 degrees flat. Where a name has been reused, such as the 2019 and 2021 TaylorMade P790 or the several JPX923 heads, confirm the exact version from the photos.
