The TaylorMade P770 is the compact sibling of the P790: a hollow-body, forged-face players-distance iron with SpeedFoam inside and a thru-slot speed pocket in the sole, but with a shorter blade, thinner topline and narrower sole. The hollow-body P770 first went on sale in 2020 and has been updated twice. The second generation, sold as the 2023 model and in shops from January 2023, added SpeedFoam Air, up to 45 grams of tungsten, a lower center of gravity, a thinner, more rounded topline, less offset and a cleaner, straighter-lined back. The 2024 model simplified the back again and launches higher. This page covers all three hollow-body generations, since eBay titles often omit the year. It is not the 2017 P770, a forged cavity-back iron with a tungsten bar in the long irons that shares only the name. The P770 suits a wide range of players, from low handicaps who like a small head to mid handicaps who want more height and distance than a forged cavity back gives. Lofts are strong (the 2020 and 2024 7-irons are 33° and the 2020 PW is 46°), so check how a set would gap with your wedges.

Count the clubs and compare price per club: the best buys here are about $69 a club, while the 6-club set titled 2025 works out to about $119 a club. Make sure it's a hollow-body P770 from 2020 or later and not the 2017 forged cavity-back, watch for combo sets with P790 or P7MC heads, ask that no head rattles, and plan wedges around the strong PW (46° on the 2020 model). Grips, tape and solvent
