Play it by club type
Generations share a name. Check the crown, the face and that the adapter and wrench are there.
Read the set makeup and the shaft before anything else, then the faces and grooves.
The most personal club, and the most faked. Length and the serial number come first.
Grooves wear fastest. Read the loft, bounce and grind stamp, then judge the face.
Check the loft setting on adjustable heads and the shaft flex against your swing.
Wear hides on the sole and leading edge. Ask for photos of both before you bid.

Find the exact model
Every club has its own page that says which generation it covers and how to tell it from the ones that look the same in a listing.
Read the listing like a fitter
Hand, flex, loft, length and set makeup are where used buys go wrong. Our guides decode the titles and say what to ask the seller.
Inspect before you bid
Each model lists what to check: crown chips, worn grooves, swapped shafts, missing wrenches and the tells of a counterfeit.
