The Mizuno JPX923 Forged is a forged players-distance iron that sits between the compact JPX923 Tour and the Hot Metal models in Mizuno's JPX923 family. Mizuno forges it from Chromoly and back-mills a pocket behind a thin face, a recipe that began with the JPX921 Forged in 2020, which Mizuno called its first full-body forged Chromoly iron. The 923 version thinned the face compared with the 921, added a V-Chassis that reinforces the upper cavity so the topline could be made thinner, shortened the blade from the 8-iron to the gap wedge, and added bevelling to the trailing edge for smoother turf interaction. The Hot Metal models launched in fall 2022; the Forged and Tour followed in early 2023, and for the first time full left-handed sets were offered rather than a limited lefty selection. The JPX925 Forged replaced it in February 2025. It suits players who like a compact forged look but want more ball speed and help than a tour cavity back. For a used buyer, the confusion to avoid is with the JPX923 Tour, the JPX923 Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro and Hot Metal HL, and the earlier JPX921 Forged, all of which share the JPX branding.

Buying guide · Oct 4, 2026
About 111 JPX923 Forged sets are listed, and most complete ones run $650–875 delivered. Count the clubs and compare price per club, since makeups run from 4-9 to 4-GW, and note shaft flex and any length change (several sets are built long or in X-stiff). Confirm the heads say JPX923 Forged and not the Tour, Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro, Hot Metal HL or the older JPX921 Forged, and check for combo sets. Avoid sets with missing clubs unless the price allows for replacing them, and ignore the $2,005 listing, which is far above the band.
$399.99delivered
The lowest delivered price, about $400 with free shipping from a 99.7% high-volume reseller, for a 4-PW set in Project X LS 6.5 steel, but it's missing the 7-iron. That leaves 6 clubs (about $67 each), so add the cost of finding a matching 7-iron.
Used Mizuno JPX 923 Forged Iron Set 4-PW (Missing 7 Iron) Project X LS 6.5 Steel
$612.50est. delivered
A 5-GW set (7 clubs) in regular-flex graphite with midsize grips for about $613 delivered, about $88 a club, from a 100% seller, under the band. It's complete through the gap wedge; ask for the shaft model, since the title doesn't name it.

Grips, tape and solvent
Most used clubs arrive on the last owner's grips. If they are shiny, cracked or slick, regripping is the cheapest way to make a used club feel new. Match the grip size to your hands, not to what came off.
Groove brush and towel
Dirt packed in the grooves costs spin more than a little wear does. A stiff brush and a damp towel after each shot keep a used wedge or iron set playing at its best.
Impact tape
Stickers on the face show where you strike it. A few range sessions tell you whether the used head, loft and lie suit your swing while you can still resell it.
