Used fairway woods
Fairway woods take more ground contact than drivers, so the sole and leading edge deserve the closest look; ask about deep gouges or a dented leading edge. Check the crown for sky marks and dents, and the face for cracks or heavy wear in the center. Many recent models have adjustable hosels, so confirm the sleeve, its setting and whether the wrench is included. Confirm the loft marked on the head, since a 3-wood and a 5-wood can look alike in photos, and the variant: Ping's G430 fairways, for example, came in Max, LST and SFT versions with different launch and shot-shape aims. Read the shaft label for flex and weight, and check graphite near the hosel for splintering.
