The Newport 2 is Scotty Cameron's heel-and-toe weighted blade with a plumbing neck and tri-sole, and this page covers that head shape across Cameron's retail lines rather than one release. The lines differ more than the shape does. The Studio Select Newport 2 was on sale by 2013. The Select line followed, refreshed in 2016 with a 303 stainless face-and-sole inlay, two stainless heel-toe weights and a Red Matador grip, and again in 2018 with a thinner topline and more vibration-dampening material. Special Select (January 2020) went back to solid-milled 303 stainless heads, tungsten sole weights on the blades and a cement gray Pistolini Plus grip. Super Select (March 2023) added a dual-milled face, moved about 10 grams to the heel and toe, and came in 33, 34 and 35 inch lengths. It suits a golfer who wants a classic milled blade look and feel. For a used buyer, the line name on the sole matters more than the Newport 2 stamp, the Plus and 2.5 siblings are easy to confuse with it, and counterfeits are common enough that you should authenticate before you bid.

Buying guide · Oct 4, 2026
About 143 Newport 2 listings are active, and most complete ones run about $260–340 delivered, with older Select and Studio Select heads at the low end and Special Select and Super Select toward the top. Read the line on the sole (Studio Select, Select, Special Select or Super Select), make sure the head is a Newport 2 and not a 2 Plus or 2.5, and check both sole weights, the topline and face for dings, the grip and the playing length. Counterfeits are a real risk with Scotty Camerons, so ask for close photos of the serial number on the shaft under the grip, the shaft label and the sole stampings, and take extra care with zero-feedback sellers such as the guerrero8 auction. Skip the $460 Super Select ask, since a Super Select described as Excellent is about $306.

Putter cover
Milled faces and soft inserts mark easily. Pick a blade or mallet cover to match the head shape, and keep it on in the bag and the trunk.
Grips, tape and solvent
Most used clubs arrive on the last owner's grips. If they are shiny, cracked or slick, regripping is the cheapest way to make a used club feel new. Match the grip size to your hands, not to what came off.
