The Stealth 2 is the standard head in TaylorMade's 2023 driver family, the second generation of what the company calls Carbonwood. It sits between the low-spin Stealth 2 Plus and the draw-biased Stealth 2 HD, and TaylorMade rated it highest for forgiveness alongside the HD, with mid-high launch and mid-low spin. That makes it a broad fit for mid and higher handicaps who still want speed. Compared with the 2022 Stealth, the 60X Carbon Twist Face is about 2 grams lighter and uses an enhanced Inverted Cone Technology to hold ball speed on off-center hits. A new Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring helps give it nearly twice the carbon of the original Stealth, and the saved mass goes to a 25-gram tungsten weight on the rear of the Inertia Generator. Golf Monthly's back-to-back test found it more consistent than the first Stealth rather than dramatically longer, and preferred its glossier crown and brighter red face. Lofts were 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees, the 12 for right-handers only. The Qi10 family replaced it in 2024. For a used buyer, the main risk is getting a Plus, HD or first-generation Stealth labeled as a Stealth 2.

Read the sole: the Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2 HD and 2022 Stealth share the red carbon face, and only the standard Stealth 2 shows a red ring on the back. Look for the stock Ventus TR Red 5 or Diamana S+ 60, ask about the sleeve setting and wrench, and inspect the carbon face edges for chips. Skip titles marked READ until you know the catch, and treat an 8° title as a sleeve setting, since the head came in 9°, 10.5° and 12°.
