The SIM2 Max Rescue is the wider, distance-focused hybrid in TaylorMade's 2021 SIM2 range, which went on sale in February 2021. TaylorMade split the hybrid line in two that year: the SIM2 Rescue is a flatter, more iron-like head with an adjustable sleeve for players who hit down on the ball, while the SIM2 Max Rescue has a wider body for golfers who sweep hybrids off the turf. The Max follows the M4, M6 and SIM Max rescues with a high-launch, mid-spin flight and a neutral rather than draw bias. An updated V-Steel sole with a depressed heel shifts mass for more MOI and better turf contact, and it keeps Twist Face and a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket for ball speed on low strikes. Lofts were 19 (3), 22 (4), 25 (5), 28 (6) and 31 (7) degrees. It suits golfers who sweep the ball and want maximum carry from a hybrid, and Today's Golfer found it among the longest hybrids in its 2021 test. The Stealth rescue replaced it in 2022. For a used buyer, the hosel is fixed, so buy the exact loft you need to fill your gap.

Buying guide · Oct 4, 2026
About 92 SIM2 Max Rescues are listed, and most complete clubs ask $130–180 delivered, with several good 4-hybrids from big golf sellers well under that. The hosel is fixed, so buy the exact loft you need: 19° (3), 22° (4), 25° (5), 28° (6) or 31° (7); a loft sleeve in the photos means it's the plain SIM2 Rescue, and a loft outside that list (like 19.5°) needs the sole stamp checked. Check whether the shaft is the stock Ventus Blue or a swap, look for face dings and deep sole gouges, and ask for the serial number. Avoid low-feedback sellers and asks well over the band.
$90.98est. delivered
A no-bid auction at $75, about $91 delivered at the current price, from a 100% seller; it had about 5 days left at capture (ending around Oct 10), so the price will likely climb. It has a Ventus Blue 7S stiff shaft, but the title doesn't give the loft and calls it fair condition, so ask for the sole and face photos.

Torque wrench for your brand
Adjustable drivers, fairways and hybrids often sell without the wrench. You need one that fits your brand's screw and clicks at the right torque before you change loft or swap a weight.
Headcover
A wood without a headcover picks up crown chips from the irons in the bag. If the original cover is missing, any cover that fits the head size does the job.
Grips, tape and solvent
Most used clubs arrive on the last owner's grips. If they are shiny, cracked or slick, regripping is the cheapest way to make a used club feel new. Match the grip size to your hands, not to what came off.
Impact tape
Stickers on the face show where you strike it. A few range sessions tell you whether the used head, loft and lie suit your swing while you can still resell it.
