The SIM2 Max is the mainstream fairway wood in TaylorMade's 2021 SIM2 family, which went on sale in February 2021. It sits between the smaller SIM2 Titanium (170cc, titanium face, adjustable sleeve) and the draw-biased SIM2 Max D (195cc). The Max is a 190cc head with a C300 steel Twist Face, a slightly larger face and footprint than the 2020 SIM Max, and a redesigned two-tier V-Steel sole that moves weight back for a lower CG and better turf interaction. TaylorMade pitched it as high launch and mid spin. It suits most club golfers who want an easy-launching 3-wood or 5-wood, and Today's Golfer measured it as the longest fairway wood in its 2021 test. The Stealth fairway replaced it in February 2022, and the Stealth 2 followed in 2023. For a used buyer, the key point is that the hosel is glued: the loft stamped on the sole is the loft you get, and changing the shaft means a club builder has to pull the head. Lofts were 15 (3), 16.5 (3HL), 18 (5), 21 (7) and 24 (9) degrees.

About 120 SIM2 Max fairway woods are listed, and most complete clubs ask $170–230 delivered. The hosel is bonded, so the loft stamped on the sole is what you get: the real lofts are 15° (3), 16.5° (3HL), 18° (5), 21° (7) and 24° (9), and a listing like '3-Wood (19°)' is a mislabel to query before buying. Buy the loft and flex you need, note whether the shaft is the stock Ventus Blue or an aftermarket upgrade (Hzrdus, Velocore, Tour AD), and check the crown for sky marks and the serial number on the hosel. Skip zero-feedback sellers and asks well over the band, since TaylorMade woods are widely counterfeited.

Torque wrench for your brand

Headcover
A wood without a headcover picks up crown chips from the irons in the bag. If the original cover is missing, any cover that fits the head size does the job.
