The M6 is TaylorMade's 2019 forgiveness-focused driver, sold beside the more adjustable M5, the lower-spin M5 Tour and the draw-biased M6 D-Type. It replaced the M4 and was itself replaced by the SIM family in 2020. Its headline feature was Speed Injected Twist Face: TaylorMade speed-tested each head and injected tuning resin through two ports near the bottom of the face so it sat at or near the legal limit for ball speed. Twist Face adds loft in the high toe and removes it in the low heel to tighten common misses. A carbon sole with an aerodynamic Inertia Generator holds 46 grams low and back, and a Hammerhead 2.0 slot helps ball speed on off-center strikes. Unlike the M5 there are no movable weights; the loft sleeve is the only adjustment. Golf Monthly found it easy to hit with fast ball speeds, but saw only modest gains over the M4. It suits golfers of most swing speeds who want forgiveness over workability. For a used buyer it is an older, simpler head, so condition, the stock Fujikura Atmos shaft and the sleeve matter more than the technology story.

Buying guide · Oct 4, 2026
About 46 M6 drivers are listed, and most complete ones sell for $190–250 delivered. At this age, condition and shaft matter more than the tech: confirm the sole reads M6 (not M6 D-Type or M5), look for the stock Fujikura Atmos Orange 5 or Black 6, and check the face, the sole slot and the crown for cracks or sky marks. Ask about the sleeve setting and the wrench, and watch Japan-based listings where shipping runs up to $80. Skip the READ! listing and the zero-feedback seller unless you get answers.

Torque wrench for your brand
Adjustable drivers, fairways and hybrids often sell without the wrench. You need one that fits your brand's screw and clicks at the right torque before you change loft or swap a weight.
Headcover
A wood without a headcover picks up crown chips from the irons in the bag. If the original cover is missing, any cover that fits the head size does the job.
Grips, tape and solvent
Most used clubs arrive on the last owner's grips. If they are shiny, cracked or slick, regripping is the cheapest way to make a used club feel new. Match the grip size to your hands, not to what came off.
Impact tape
Stickers on the face show where you strike it. A few range sessions tell you whether the used head, loft and lie suit your swing while you can still resell it.
