Callaway's Jaws Raw went on sale July 22, 2022, as the tour wedge that followed the Jaws MD5 of 2019, which had also been offered in a raw finish in 2020. The headline is the raw face: plating is removed in the scoring area so it rusts over time, while the rest of the head keeps its finish. Grooves use a 37-degree wall angle, with milled 20-degree micro grooves between them that Callaway calls offset groove-in-groove, aimed at spin on partial shots. It was the first Jaws wedge with tungsten; GOLF.com describes eight grams in weight ports plus a longer hosel to center the CG, and the sand and lob wedges carry it. There were 17 loft and bounce combinations across four grinds: S, W, X and the new Z, a forgiving low-bounce grind with a chamfered leading edge. Finishes are Raw Face Chrome and Raw Black Plasma, with Dynamic Gold Spinner 115 steel or Project X Catalyst 80 graphite stock. Siblings to rule out: the Mack Daddy CB is the cavity-back for higher handicaps, and the 2021 Jaws Full Toe is the high-toe model with grooves across the whole face. Callaway's Opus wedge arrived in July 2024. Used, the Jaws Raw suits mid and low handicaps, and rust on the face is normal rather than a defect.

The face is unplated so it rusts by design; that's normal, but pitting in the grooves or rust on the chrome body is not, and a close face photo should still show the fine milled lines between the grooves where the ball strikes. Check the grind letter is S, W, X or Z (a C or T points to an older Jaws MD5 or a Full Toe) and note any length change, like the +2 inch wedge here. Skip asks well over the band without a reason, and compare the badge and paint fill with a known-genuine head, since Callaway wedges are counterfeited.
